Transformaciones en el paisaje del Pirineo como consecuencia del abandono de las actividades económicas tradicionales

An important transformation of Pyrenean landscape has occurred over the last decades on the land use. The most significant change has been on the increase of scrub and wood areas. During this process, the cultural landscape supported by the traditional system derived to an increase in diversity because of the partition of existing landscape units. In the last two decades the tendency has been reversed. The continuity and homogeneity of the landscape has increased due to the predominance of wood areas. The landscape effects of change are discussed.
